Incontinence refers to a problem of the urinary system, which is composed of two kidneys, two ureters, a bladder, and a urethra. The kidney functions to remove waste products from the blood and continuously produce urine. The muscular, tube called ureters move urine from the kidneys to the bladder, where the urine is stored until it flows out of the body through the urethra. The Sphincter is a circular muscle, which controls the activity of the urethra. It is not a part of the urinary system, but plays an important role in incontinence. Any obstruction or damage in any one part of the urinary system can lead to incontinence.
